The Punjab State Election Commission has said that it is fully prepared to conduct the general elections of Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis across the state on December 14, 2025. The Commission has assured that the elections will be held in a fair, free, and transparent manner.
According to the Commission, all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the polls have been completed.
Election and Police Observers Deployed
To ensure proper monitoring, the Commission has appointed IAS and senior PCS officers as Election Observers in all districts. These officers will remain posted in their respective districts from today until the entire election process is completed, including counting of votes and declaration of results. They will regularly report to the State Election Commission. The list of Election Observers is available on the Commission’s official website.
In addition, six senior IPS officers have been appointed as Police Observers to oversee law and order during the elections. They will monitor sensitive districts including Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Tarn Taran, Rupnagar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Moga. Details of the Police Observers are available at the offices of the respective Deputy Commissioners.
The Commission has informed candidates that they may contact the appointed observers if required during the election process.
