Bihar: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has bagged two major projects with a combined value of ₹234.57 crore. The orders reflect RailTel’s growing role in national telecom infrastructure and smart governance initiatives.
₹18.57 Cr MPLS-VPN Contract from AAI
RailTel received a work order worth ₹18.57 crore from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the provision of MPLS-VPN telecom services across AAI-operated airports and offices. The project, classified under Telecom – MPLS, aims to upgrade connectivity infrastructure at key aviation hubs. The contract is to be executed by August 31, 2030.

₹216 Cr Safe City Project in Bihar
In a parallel development, RailTel also secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BEDC) for a ₹216 crore project. The initiative falls under the Mukhyamantree Surakshit Sushaasit Shahar (Safe City) program, which aims to strengthen urban safety and governance systems across Bihar. This project is also slated for completion by August 30, 2030.
Together, the two projects demonstrate RailTel’s expanding footprint in both telecom infrastructure and e-governance domains.
