New Delhi: Shares of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Railway PSU and leading telecom optical fiber company, surged 4.55% after the company announced securing orders worth around ₹396 crore from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC).
Project Scope and Execution Timeline
The work package includes the establishment of ICT labs, Integrated Science and Mathematics (ISM) labs, supply of teaching-learning materials for Classes I–V, and installation of smart classrooms across middle, secondary, and senior secondary schools in Bihar.
The projects are scheduled to be executed between December 2025 and March 2026.
Strong Stock Performance
The development has boosted investor confidence, with RailTel’s stock already delivering a 23.91% gain in the last six months. The company’s market capitalization currently stands at ₹11,600 crore, with a dividend yield of 0.71%.
Expanding Order Book
RailTel has been steadily strengthening its order book through large-scale government and education sector contracts. Recently, the company also secured contracts worth over ₹700 crore from BEPC, in addition to a ₹18.56 crore cybersecurity services order from IRCTC to be executed through September 2028.
