New Delhi: In a significant development for India’s digital infrastructure sector, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has bagged a major work order worth ₹96.99 crore from the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
The order involves the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance of Smart Warehousing Elements across 226 foodgrain warehouses nationwide.
Order Execution Timeline Set Till July 2030
According to the official exchange filing, RailTel received the Letter of Intent (LOI) for the contract, valued at ₹96,99,80,118 (including tax). The execution timeline for the complete implementation of the smart warehousing solution is scheduled to run until July 6, 2030.
This contract aligns with RailTel’s expanding footprint in digital transformation projects across government and public sector entities, reinforcing its expertise in deploying smart and IoT-based infrastructure.

The initiative is part of the CWC’s modernization efforts to integrate technology-enabled solutions in warehousing and storage, particularly for foodgrain logistics. Despite the major contract announcement, RailTel shares traded lower on July 8. The stock was down 0.87% at ₹409.40, after opening at ₹412.00. Over the last one month, the stock has declined by over 10.4%, reflecting broader market volatility and sectoral corrections.
