New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has made a strong start to calendar year 2026 by securing multiple large domestic contracts cumulatively valued at over ₹450 crore during January.
The company disclosed the order wins to stock exchanges in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations.
Major Order Wins Across Defence, Railways and Government IT
RailTel received a ₹140.71 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence for providing annual maintenance services. The project, which strengthens RailTel’s role in India’s defence technology ecosystem, will be executed up to January 2031.
In another key win, the company secured a ₹101.82 crore project from the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) for setting up and managing critical IT infrastructure. The scope includes Data Centres, Disaster Recovery facilities, Security Operations Centre (SOC) services, and colocation support, with execution scheduled until January 2031.

Railways and Power Sector Projects Boost Order Book
RailTel also received a ₹88.66 crore Letter of Acceptance from Central Railway for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of IP-MPLS network equipment across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Solapur divisions. The project aims to enable unified and secure communication across Indian Railways.
Further expanding into the power distribution sector, RailTel bagged a ₹27.04 crore order from Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL). The project involves deployment of SD-WAN devices along with five years of warranty and technical support.
Expansion into Healthcare and Digital Governance
RailTel entered the healthcare digitalisation space with a ₹56.71 crore contract from Assam Health Infrastructure Development & Management Society (AHIDMS). The project covers procurement, implementation, and long-term maintenance of a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and will run until January 2032.
Additionally, the company secured:
- ₹15.99 crore cloud services contract from FSSAI
- ₹12.28 crore project from the Government of Tripura to provide internet connectivity in schools, supporting digital education initiatives
Project Cancellations in Bihar
Alongside the fresh order wins, RailTel informed exchanges about the cancellation of two previously awarded projects in Bihar by the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). These include:
- ₹89.91 crore project for supply of teaching-learning material for Classes I–V
- ₹257.50 crore smart classroom project for government secondary and senior secondary schools
The cancellations were due to unavoidable reasons cited by the customer. RailTel clarified that these terminations do not involve any related-party transactions.
Strategic Outlook
The diversified order inflow highlights RailTel’s growing role beyond railway communications into defence, healthcare, education, power utilities, and digital governance. Despite selective project cancellations, the strong January order book reflects continued demand for government-led digital transformation initiatives.
RailTel also confirmed that none of the newly awarded contracts involve promoter or related-party interests.
