Navratna PSU RailTel Corporation of India Limited has secured a significant domestic order worth ₹148.39 crore from the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India (ORGI). The contract marks an important business milestone for RailTel and further strengthens its presence in the government IT and telecom services segment.
The company disclosed the development through an exchange filing, in line with regulatory requirements.
Contract Details
According to the work order received, the total value of the contract stands at ₹1,48,39,63,500. The contract is to be executed over a long-term period, with the completion timeline extending up to 21 December 2030.
The order pertains to the procurement of comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) services, covering critical IT infrastructure components essential for ORGI’s nationwide operations.

Scope of Work
Under the contract, RailTel will provide comprehensive AMC services for servers, storage systems, network equipment, and network security devices. The scope also includes renewal of software and system licenses, ensuring uninterrupted operations and secure performance of ORGI’s IT infrastructure.
The project underscores RailTel’s expertise in managing large-scale, mission-critical IT systems for government institutions.

This contract adds substantial value to RailTel’s order book and reinforces its capability to secure high-value projects from key government agencies. The deal highlights RailTel’s growing role as a trusted technology and connectivity partner for central government departments.
Despite the positive development, RailTel shares were trading marginally lower by 0.16% at ₹335.35 on the BSE during market hours.

RailTel confirmed that the contract award has been disclosed in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as it qualifies as a material business development. The company also clarified that the order does not involve any related party transactions and that ORGI has no connection with RailTel’s promoter or promoter group.
