RailTel Bags ₹35.44 Crore MCGM Contract to Build Advanced Disaster Management Communication System

New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has announced a significant achievement with the receipt of a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for a project worth ₹35,44,83,378. The order, received on December 11, 2025, assigns RailTel the responsibility of delivering a Comprehensive Communication Solution with full redundancy for MCGM’s Disaster Management Department.

Project to Boost Mumbai’s Emergency Response Network

The upcoming communication infrastructure aims to provide secure, reliable, and uninterrupted connectivity to support Mumbai’s disaster response operations. The system is expected to play a crucial role during emergencies by ensuring that real-time information, coordination, and decision-making remain seamless across departments.

RailTel’s solution will incorporate redundant systems to eliminate communication downtime, an essential requirement for a city as densely populated and disaster-prone as Mumbai. The project underlines the growing focus on technologically robust mechanisms to enhance urban disaster preparedness.

Long-Term Execution Timeline

The contract is fully domestic in nature and is scheduled to be completed by March 10, 2031. RailTel clarified that the award does not fall under related-party transactions, and no promoter or promoter-group entity holds any interest in MCGM.

With this deal, RailTel continues to strengthen its presence in mission-critical communication domains, emphasizing reliability and digital transformation for public agencies.

This order follows a series of similar infrastructure and technology-driven projects secured by RailTel across India. The latest win reinforces the company’s trajectory as a key digital solutions provider for government bodies, smart-city initiatives, and emergency response networks.
