Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday emphasized the significance of the HPCL Refinery in Balotra district for the overall development of western Rajasthan and the state. During his visit to Balotra, Sharma inspected the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadara and held a review meeting to assess progress. He also stressed the importance of employing local workers in the project.
The Chief Minister directed the Industry and Commerce Department to appoint a special officer for reviewing the project’s progress, with a report to be submitted within 15 days. Sharma also announced plans to develop a Petro Zone around the refinery and instructed officials to maintain regular communication with companies involved in the project. He warned of strict action against firms or contractors causing delays.
Additionally, Sharma tasked the District Collector with preparing a comprehensive development plan for Balotra, focusing on essential infrastructure such as water, roads, electricity, education, and healthcare to improve public services in the region.
