Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has issued a major round of promotions for its senior bureaucrats and police officers with effect from January 1, 2026. A total of 61 IAS officers, 40 IPS officers, and 23 IFS officers have been promoted, marking a significant administrative shake-up at the start of the New Year.
Key IAS Promotions
4 IAS officers promoted to Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) level:
- Ajitabh Sharma – ACS (Energy)
- Dinesh Kumar – ACS (Administrative Reforms & Coordination)
- Rajesh Kumar Yadav – ex-officio ACS (Training), continues as Director General, HCM RIPA
- Alok Gupta – ACS, continues as Chairman, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board
Promotions from Secretary to Principal Secretary:
- Naveen Jain – Principal Secretary, General Administration Department & Cabinet
- K.K. Pathak – Principal Secretary (proforma promotion)
Other IAS promotions:
- 11 officers, including Jaipur Collector Jitendra Soni, promoted from Selection Scale to Super Time Scale (Level 14).
- 22 officers, including Pradeep Gawande, promoted from Junior Administrative Scale to Selection Scale (Level 13).
- Arvind Kumar Poswal – Joint Secretary to CM → Special Secretary to CM
- Nathmal Didel – Joint Secretary, Finance (Taxation) → Special Secretary

Promotion to Additional Director General (ADG):

- Promotion to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank: 11 officers
Promotion of 44 Rajasthan Police Inspectors to Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) rank, including Pradeep Sharma, SHO of Chomu police station promoted to Deputy rank officer.

IFS Promotions
- 23 officers promoted, including 11 made Conservators of Forests.
