Jaipur: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has transferred 34 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, marking one of the most extensive postings in the state police department in recent years. The Department of Personnel issued the transfer orders on Wednesday evening.
As per the order, several senior officers of Director General (DG) and Additional Director General (ADG) rank have been reassigned, and for the first time, the state government has created a DG-level post in the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
Key Appointments in the Rajasthan IPS Transfer List
Among the major changes, Sachin Mittal (IPS:1996) has been appointed the new Police Commissioner of Jaipur, replacing Biju George Joseph (IPS:1995), who will now serve as Additional Director General of Police (Personnel).
The reshuffle aims to strengthen law enforcement leadership across key divisions, enhance operational efficiency, and infuse new energy into specialized units like SOG, ATS, and Crime Branch.

New DG Post in SOG-ATS
A notable feature of the reshuffle is the creation of a DG-level post in the SOG-ATS, a first in the Rajasthan Police. The move is expected to bolster anti-terror and organized crime operations, ensuring faster decision-making and better inter-agency coordination.
