Speaking at a session on “Indo-German Cooperation in the Renewable Energy Sector: Current Initiatives and Future Opportunities,” hosted by Germany, Das highlighted Rajasthan’s pivotal role in advancing India’s green energy ambitions and invited German investment to unlock the sector’s potential.
Das applauded Rajasthan’s impressive progress, revealing that the state had achieved a total installed capacity of 46.6 GW by October 2024, with renewable energy contributing 31.8 GW, including 24.6 GW from solar power alone. He noted that IREDA’s financial support in the state amounted to around ₹8,600 crores as of September 30, representing 13.30% of its overall loan portfolio, further emphasising Rajasthan’s significance in the renewable energy domain.
Focusing on Indo-German collaboration, Das proposed measures to enhance mutual goals, such as creating globally integrated supply chains, ensuring affordable financing, fostering technological advancements, strengthening the renewable energy ecosystem, and promoting greater participation of women in the sector.
Das reaffirmed IREDA’s commitment to accelerating Rajasthan’s renewable energy journey and strengthening international partnerships, particularly with Germany, to achieve rapid and sustainable growth in the green energy sector.
