Rajesh Kohli, Executive Director at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), has been entrusted with the extension of additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Machine Tools Limited (HMT Lmt), effective from April 5, 2025 to June 30, 2026
Rajesh Kohli, 58, is a Mechanical Engineer (Honours) from NIT Kurukshetra and brings over 36 years of industry experience to the role. He began his career in 1987 at BHEL’s Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant in Haridwar, and has worked across various advanced technology domains including superconducting machines, large electrical machines, and defence projects.

Since 2016, he has been stationed at BHEL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi, where he has led initiatives in technology management, R&D, innovation strategy, and global partnerships. Under his leadership, BHEL has advanced collaborations in areas such as the hydrogen value chain, coal-to-chemicals, and rail transportation.
