New Delhi: In a significant step toward strengthening India’s power infrastructure, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited (a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power), officially handed over the Rajgarh Neemuch Power Transmission Limited SPV to G R Infraprojects Limited on 29th September 2025.
This handover marks a key milestone under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route for Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects.
GR Infraprojects Becomes Transmission Service Provider
G R Infraprojects Limited emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the project after winning the bid conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator. The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis, aligning with the government’s push for transparent and competitive project allocation in the power sector.
Formal Handover Ceremony Held in Delhi
The SPV handover was carried out by Mr. T.S.C. Bosh, CEO, RECPDCL, and received by Mr. Saurabh Kaushik, Business Head – Power T&D, G R Infraprojects Limited. Senior officials from RECPDCL, G R Infraprojects, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL) were present at the ceremony.
The awarded project has an implementation period of 24 months.
Project Scope and Technical Highlights
The Rajgarh Neemuch Power Transmission Scheme includes the following key components:
- Establishment of 2×500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation at Handiya
- Construction of approximately 650 km of 400 kV Double Circuit Transmission Lines
- Augmentation works at Pachora Pooling Station and Neemuch Pooling Station
- Installation of line bays and bus reactors
This critical infrastructure project is expected to significantly enhance transmission capacity, support renewable energy integration, and ensure reliable power supply in the region.
