SAIL-MTI Partners with IIM Jammu to Launch Executive Education for Future-Ready Leaders

New Delhi: In a strategic move to enhance leadership capabilities within the public sector, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), through its Management Training Institute (MTI), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu. The partnership aims to deliver executive education programmes focused on nurturing future-ready leaders for a dynamic business environment.

MoU Signed at SAIL Headquarters in New Delhi

The MoU was officially signed on September 29, 2025, at SAIL’s Corporate Office, Ispat Bhawan, in New Delhi. The signing ceremony witnessed participation from key leadership of both institutions.

The MoU was signed by:

  • Mr. Sanjay Dhar, Officiating Executive Director (HR-L&D), MTI, SAIL
  • Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran (Retd.), Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu

The ceremony was graced by Mr. K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL, along with Mr. B. S. Popli, Executive Director (HR), SAIL, and Dr. Rajesh Sikka from IIM Jammu.

Focus on Capacity Building and Leadership Excellence

The collaboration is aligned with SAIL’s long-term commitment to developing visionary leaders who can navigate complex challenges and drive innovation in the steel sector. The partnership with IIM Jammu—a premier institution known for academic rigour and industry relevance—will offer tailored programmes on leadership, strategy, innovation, and organizational transformation.

“This initiative reflects SAIL’s proactive approach to adopt global best practices and invest in the continuous development of its human capital,” said Mr. K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL.
