New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the ongoing education reforms in the capital during the 18th convocation of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). She highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi’s education system is witnessing rapid transformation, with a strong focus on modern infrastructure and technology-driven learning.
Education Budget Increased to Rs 19,326 Crore
The Chief Minister announced that Delhi’s education budget has been raised to Rs 19,326 crore, resulting in significant improvements:
- Enhanced school infrastructure
- Modernized classrooms
- Increased access to technology-based education for students
She stressed that these measures are aimed at providing youth with education and facilities aligned with their evolving needs.
Convocation Ceremony and Awards
The convocation ceremony at GGSIPU saw a large number of students receiving degrees and medals for their academic achievements. CM Rekha Gupta congratulated the awardees, stating that the youth are the driving force behind a “Developed India”.
She added that the accomplishments of students would help propel India to new heights globally, strengthening the country’s identity on the world stage.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Mahesh Verma and other dignitaries, who extended their best wishes for the students’ bright futures.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Delhi government is committed to providing high-quality education and modern facilities to meet the needs of its youth.
