Strategic Plan: 26 India-Built Ships for ₹19,820 Crore
In a major boost to domestic shipbuilding, SCI is reportedly working on a plan to acquire 26 Indian-made vessels worth ₹19,820 crore ($2.3 billion). The initiative aligns with the central government’s push to promote indigenous shipbuilding and reduce reliance on foreign-built vessels.
Outlook
Despite near-term revenue headwinds across all segments, SCI’s profitability improvement and capital investment plans could strengthen its position in the long run, especially in a geopolitical environment that increasingly values domestic capabilities.
