The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has extended the tenure of 1987-batch Chhattisgarh cadre retired IAS officer, Mr. BVR Subrahmanyam, as the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog for an additional year beyond 24th February 2025. Mr. Subrahmanyam, who previously served as the Union Commerce Secretary, took over as CEO of NITI Aayog in February 2023, succeeding 1981-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre retired IAS officer Mr. Parameswaran Iyer.

In his role as CEO of NITI Aayog, Mr. Subrahmanyam has been instrumental in driving key initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and economic growth in India. He has also been actively involved in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.
Mr. Subrahmanyam’s expertise in internal security and his experience in the Prime Minister’s Office have further enriched his contributions to national policy-making. His leadership continues to influence India’s development trajectory, reflecting his commitment to public service and governance.
