New Delhi: Retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Rajiv Jalota has been appointed as an Additional Director (Non-executive Independent Director) on the Board of Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL). His tenure will be for a period of three years, effective from the date of his appointment.

Distinguished Bureaucratic Career

Mr Jalota is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, known for his reform-driven leadership in taxation and infrastructure management. He has held several prominent positions in the Government of Maharashtra as well as the Government of India.

Among his key roles, he served as the Chairperson of the Mumbai Port Authority and Indian Ports Association (IPA), Delhi, holding the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.

Educational Credentials

Mr Jalota holds a Postgraduate degree in Science from Lucknow University and a Master’s in International Development Policy from Duke University, USA. His academic and administrative background has been instrumental in shaping progressive public policy and port management strategies.

  • Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration (2017) for GST implementation.
  • National accolades for innovations in Taxation and Public Finance Reforms.
  • Recognized leadership in Port Management, Cruise and Green Shipping, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), and Green Energy Transition.

His appointment to the DCIL Board is expected to enhance strategic direction and governance, especially in the context of India’s growing focus on port modernization and sustainable maritime infrastructure.
