Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today inaugurated the India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-augmented multidisciplinary university campus of Chandigarh University, located on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway in Unnao. This cutting-edge campus aims to revolutionize the education landscape in the state by integrating AI-powered learning with employment-focused and technologically advanced programs.
The new university campus, spread over 63.53 acres in Parsandan village, is designed to offer 45 AI-enabled courses across six major streams including Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Legal Studies. The campus is equipped with modern infrastructure, including smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, a library, hostels, and sports facilities.
Emphasis on Quality, Affordable Education and Employment
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Yogi government is committed to providing affordable and quality education to every student in the state. In the past six years, the government has facilitated the establishment of several public and private universities in Uttar Pradesh, with a clear mandate to focus on courses that promote employment and technology-based skills. The Unnao campus is a shining example of this vision, offering students training that aligns with global competitive standards.

AI-Powered Learning for Future-Ready Students
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay emphasized that all courses at Chandigarh University’s Unnao campus will integrate AI-based technology, equipping students with skills relevant to the future global workforce. The university is ranked among India’s top five institutions in international rankings and has established partnerships with over 20 reputed national and international companies including Google, Microsoft, IBM, and Rabbit AI. These collaborations will provide students with opportunities for internships, research, and placements in emerging fields like machine learning, data science, cybersecurity, and fintech.
Innovation, Startups, and Scholarships
The university campus will also promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students, encouraging them to create startups and contribute to technological advancement. To support higher education and research, Chandigarh University has allocated scholarships totaling ₹40 crore, including ₹3 crore specifically for research scholars under the CV Raman Scholarship program.
A Step Towards Uttar Pradesh’s AI Vision
This initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader goals to become a hub for AI-driven development. Alongside the establishment of this AI-based university, the state government is also developing India’s first AI City in Lucknow, further solidifying its position as a leader in technology and education.
