RITES Appoints Rajshree Awasthi as Additional General Manager (Mechanical) on Three-Year Deputation

New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has approved the deputation of Ms. Rajshree Awasthi (IRSME), currently serving as Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer at Western Railway Headquarters, to RITES Limited as Additional General Manager (Mechanical).

The appointment will be based at Gurugram and will be for a period of three years or until further orders.

Ministry of Railways Approves Deputation

The Ministry’s approval allows Ms. Awasthi to join RITES on standard deputation terms, including parent pay plus admissible deputation allowances. The deputation is also subject to Government of India approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption at RITES Limited.

This exemption enables her to serve the full deputation tenure without being required to opt for permanent absorption into the public sector enterprise at the outset.

Key Role at RITES as Additional General Manager (Mechanical)

At RITES, Ms. Awasthi will take charge as Additional General Manager (Mechanical), where she will oversee mechanical operations and contribute to engineering and project execution activities in the rail and transport sectors.

Born on March 3, 1993, Ms. Awasthi is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) and is presently posted as Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer at Headquarters, Western Railway.

The Western Railway has been requested to relieve her at the earliest to enable her to assume the new assignment. The date of her relief will be communicated to the Railway Board.

Strengthening Technical Leadership at RITES

Her deputation is expected to further strengthen RITES’ mechanical engineering capabilities, particularly in rolling stock, maintenance systems, and transport infrastructure projects. With her experience in Western Railway, she brings operational insight and technical expertise to the organization’s growing portfolio.
