New Delhi: RITES Limited, a premier transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering company under the Ministry of Railways, has announced that the RITES-Aryan Joint Venture has secured a significant contract from South Western Railway for the redevelopment of Tumakuru Railway Station in Karnataka.
EPC Contract for Station Modernization
The project has been awarded through a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and is structured under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. The scope of work includes comprehensive civil works, signal and telecommunication systems, and electrical general services aimed at modernizing the Tumakuru station infrastructure.
The contract will be completed within 540 days from the appointed start date as specified in the agreement.

RITES’ Share Worth ₹37.81 Crore
RITES Limited’s share of the total contract value is pegged at ₹37.81 crore, excluding GST. The company emphasized that the transaction is a government-to-government agreement and does not fall under the ambit of related party transactions.
Boost to Station Infrastructure and Passenger Experience
The redevelopment project is part of the broader Indian Railways initiative to enhance station infrastructure across the country. The upgrade of Tumakuru Railway Station is expected to significantly improve passenger amenities, safety, and operational efficiency, ultimately supporting the growth and connectivity of the region.
