New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) will hold interviews on September 15, 2025, to appoint the next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Ten candidates have been shortlisted for the leadership position.
Shortlisted Candidates for CMD, RVNL
The candidates scheduled for interviews are:
- Ajit Kumar Panda, Director (Project & Services), Container Corporation of India Limited
- Mritunjay Pratap Singh, Director (Operations), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited
- Anurag, Principal Executive Director, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited
- Amit Tandon, Executive Director (Metro), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited
- Sumit Sardana, Executive Director (Infrastructure), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited
- Vikas Chandra, Executive Director (North East), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited
- Surendra Singh, Executive Director (Projects), IRCON International Limited
- Vippagunta Rama Manohara Rao, Director (Finance), RailTel Corporation of India Limited
- Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects), NBCC (India) Limited
- Dr. Pudi Hariprasad, Chief Administration Officer (Treasury & Reconciliation), Ministry of Railways
Industry observers note that Mritunjay Pratap Singh, Director (Operations), RVNL, is considered a strong contender.
Leadership Transition at RVNL
The CMD post became vacant following the retirement of Pradeep Gaur on August 31, 2025. Gaur, who assumed charge in August 2018, completed his five-year term and received a two-year extension before retiring.
Since September 1, 2025, Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE), AM/L&A, Railway Board, has been holding additional charge of CMD, RVNL. The PESB had advertised the position on April 22, 2025.
