New Delhi: Salasar Techno Engineering Limited has secured two major contracts worth a combined ₹695.18 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India railway PSU. The projects are focused on strengthening electrical and mechanical infrastructure and improving distribution systems under the Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked, Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in Himachal Pradesh.
Contract 1: Procurement Management & Service Support
The first contract awarded by RVNL pertains to Service Support and Procurement Management for sourcing Electrical & Mechanical items. These materials will be used for the development of distribution infrastructure aimed at loss reduction across four operation circles—Mandi, Bilaspur, Kullu, and Hamirpur—in the Central Zone of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL).
This contract is a critical component of the RDSS scheme, designed to modernize power distribution networks and improve overall system efficiency.
Contract 2: Erection and Infrastructure Development Work
The second contract covers the erection work required for creating robust distribution infrastructure in the same four districts. This includes structural installation, system upgrades, and onsite execution to support loss reduction and improved power reliability.
Together, the two projects aim to significantly enhance electricity distribution, reduce technical and commercial losses, and contribute to the modernization of Himachal Pradesh’s power supply network.
Execution Timeline
Both contracts are expected to be completed within 20 months, with Salasar Techno Engineering deploying project teams, technical expertise, and procurement systems to meet the strategic deadlines under the RDSS framework.
Market Reaction
Shares of RVNL were trading slightly higher, up 0.077% at ₹323.80 on the BSE, following the announcement of the project award.
