On June 19th, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) was recognized as one of India’s Best Employers Among Nation-Builders for 2024 by the Great Place To Work Institute India. This prestigious accolade, handed out to Mr. KK Singh, the Director (Personnel) of SAIL, highlights SAIL’s legacy of unwavering commitment to nation-building and the company’s efforts to create a high-trust workplace culture. It is also pertinent to mention that in December 2023, the Maharatna PSU secured the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for December 2023 to December 2024 by the Great Place to Work Institute, India.

SAIL, founded in 1973, has contributed significantly to helping the nation emerge as a robust economy after independence. To be self-reliant and lay the infrastructure for rapid industrialisation in the country, the steel plants were set up with a large capital outlay. Since its foundation, SAIL has consistently grown and helped India to become the 2nd largest steel-producing country in the world.

Great Place To Work India instituted this momentous award to honour organizations that meet rigorous criteria and are evaluated through an independent assessment. Mr. Amarendu Prakash, the Chairman of SAIL, applauded the feat saying, “We are very happy and proud to receive this recognition from Great Place To Work India. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the SAIL collective over the years. This recognition gives us the confidence to do even better.”
