Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday unveiled the “Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047” campaign, inviting citizens from all walks of life to contribute ideas toward shaping the state’s Vision Document for 2047. The initiative is designed to foster broad public participation in charting Uttar Pradesh’s long-term development.
Digital Portal, QR Codes, and Workshops Drive Citizen Engagement
A dedicated Samarth Uttar Pradesh portal (https://samarthuttarpradesh.up.gov.in) allows people to submit suggestions across 12 key sectors, including agriculture, health, education, industry, IT, infrastructure, tourism, social welfare, security, and governance. To increase accessibility, QR codes will be displayed in schools, colleges, and public spaces.
Over 400 retired officials and domain experts from administration, police, forestry, agriculture, education, and health participated in a one-day orientation workshop at Lok Bhavan, which featured a short film showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s development since 2017 and set the stage for grassroots input.
Aligned with ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’
The campaign supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat @2047” vision. CM Adityanath emphasized that every citizen is a partner in the state’s development under the Shatabdi Sankalp Abhiyan, encouraging senior citizens and intellectuals to share their experience. He highlighted that Uttar Pradesh’s GDP has grown from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 35 lakh crore in the past eight years, establishing the state as one of India’s fastest-growing economies.
Seminars, Resolutions, and District-Level Engagement
The first phase will feature seminars at academic institutions with participation from ministers, MPs, and MLAs. Resolutions will be passed in gram panchayats and wards, while citizens’ suggestions will be collected through the portal and QR codes. Around 400 intellectuals from the workshop will visit districts on September 8–9 to interact with students, teachers, farmers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and residents to gather grassroots ideas.
Evaluation and Recognition of Ideas
All submissions will be reviewed by subject experts and NITI Aayog, with the most innovative proposals receiving recognition at both district and state levels. The initiative ensures that public input is meaningfully integrated into policymaking to drive tangible development.
Core Themes and Long-Term Economic Vision
Principal Secretary (Planning) Alok Kumar outlined that the Vision Document is built around three pillars: economic strength, innovation, and vitality. Uttar Pradesh aims to grow its economy to $6 trillion by 2047, aligning state-level planning with national development goals.
Campaign Duration and Outreach Strategy
Running from September 5 to October 5, the campaign will be promoted via hoardings, newspapers, radio, television, and social media. Gram panchayat-level seminars will ensure widespread participation and help channel local ideas into the state’s long-term development roadmap.
