Following a circular issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on May 27, Dr. Samir V Kamat’s tenure as Secretary in the Department of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D) and the Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have been extended for a period of one year from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, upon recommendation by the ACC following a discussion with the Ministry of Defence.
