New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar as the Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) at the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
The appointment follows a recommendation made earlier by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) in December 2024.

Brings Over 27 Years of Experience in Warehousing and Agriculture Policy
Mr Samuel currently serves as Joint Secretary (Extension, Investment & Price Support) in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, a post he has held since December 2021. His deep involvement in agricultural policy and logistics planning is expected to strengthen CWC’s strategic and marketing capabilities.
Prior to his tenure in the ministry, he had a long-standing career at Central Warehousing Corporation, serving as General Manager from 1997 to 2021 – bringing over 27 years of industry experience to his new leadership role.
Strategic Role in a Key National Infrastructure PSU
As Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning), Mr Samuel will play a pivotal role in driving CWC’s business development, overseeing corporate strategy, and enhancing the organization’s national logistics and warehousing footprint, particularly in support of the government’s initiatives in agriculture, food security, and public distribution.
Background and Education
An alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya (1975 batch), Mr Samuel is known for his expertise in logistics management and deep understanding of warehousing infrastructure and policy frameworks.
