UPSC Releases CDS (II) 2024 Final Result: 574 Candidates Qualify for OTA Courses in Chennai

A total of 574 candidates - comprising 510 men and 64 women - have been declared qualified.

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (II), 2024, for admission to the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, marking another milestone for aspirants seeking Short Service Commission in the Indian Armed Forces.

574 Candidates Qualified in Order of Merit
A total of 574 candidates – comprising 510 men and 64 women – have been declared qualified, based on their performance in the CDS (II) 2024 written examination conducted by UPSC and subsequent interviews held by the Services Selection Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Defence.

These candidates are selected for-

  • The 122nd Short Service Commission Course (Non-Technical) for Men
  • The 36th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course
  • Both courses are scheduled to commence in October 2025 at OTA, Chennai.

Vacancies and Overlap with Earlier Selections
As per official communication, the number of vacancies notified by the Government is

  • 276 vacancies for men under the 122nd SSC (NT) course
  • 19 vacancies for women under the 36th SSC (NT) course

The men’s merit list also includes names of candidates who were earlier recommended for admission to

  • Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
  • Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala
  • Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad

Provisional Candidature and Further Verification
It is important to note that the results of the medical examinations have not been considered in the merit list. Additionally, all selected candidates’ candidature is provisional, pending verification of their date of birth and educational qualifications by Army Headquarters.

Accessing Results and Marks
Candidates can view the final merit list on the official UPSC website: www.upsc.gov.in. Individual marks of candidates will be available on the same site within 15 days of result declaration and will remain accessible for 30 days.

Non-Recommended Candidates: Score Disclosure Option
The Commission has also implemented the “Disclosure Scheme” under which non-recommended candidates can opt to have their scores and other relevant details published publicly. This can be done while downloading their individual scorecards from the website.
