Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted the transformation of Sandipani Schools into centers of excellence in holistic education, addressing a state-level event on Guru Purnima Mahotsav at the newly constructed Government Kamla Nehru Sandipani School in Bhopal. The programme witnessed a series of impactful announcements, including incentives for schools, free bicycle distribution, and upcoming educational reforms in Madhya Pradesh.
369 Sandipani Schools Leading All-Round Development
CM Yadav said that 369 Sandipani schools in Madhya Pradesh are providing education beyond textbooks. These institutions are nurturing the all-round development of students, combining academics with co-curricular activities, cultural values, and personality building.
In recognition of their exceptional performance, the CM announced ₹5 lakh each for Sandipani Schools in Mhow, Dewas, and Narsinghpur, which achieved 100% results in board exams.

New Rs. 36-Crore School Building with Modern Amenities Inaugurated
Dr. Yadav inaugurated the newly constructed building of Government Kamla Nehru Sandipani Girls School, built at a cost of ₹36 crore. The infrastructure includes science laboratories, a well-stocked library, an auditorium, and enhanced classroom facilities. The event began with students welcoming the CM with a school band performance and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.
A student, Santoshi Sahu, presented a handmade portrait to the CM, while Kumari Deepti Uike delivered a performance of “Guruvandana,” paying tribute to teachers.
Massive Bicycle Distribution Drive Kicks Off
In a symbolic gesture, the CM distributed bicycles to 50 students, officially launching a two-day campaign under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, during which 4.3 lakh students across various districts will receive bicycles. “These bicycles represent self-reliance and health,” said Dr. Yadav, adding that uniforms and laptops will be distributed next, followed by electric scooters for meritorious students.
Honouring Educators on Guru Purnima
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the CM honoured ten teachers — including Manoj Sohni, Devendra Bansal, Dr. S.K. Pal, among others — for their remarkable contributions. They were felicitated with shawls and coconuts in a grand ceremony that celebrated the pivotal role of educators in shaping the nation’s future.
Global Recognition and Commitment to Heritage
Dr. Yadav praised the international accolades received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the PM’s receipt of civilian honours from 27 countries brings pride to all Indians. He also celebrated the global recognition of Jhabua and Ratlam Sandipani Vidyalayas, which received international awards for excellence in education.

Future Plans: IIT Satellite Center and Medical Education Boost
The CM announced that an IIT satellite center will be established in Ujjain to strengthen employment-linked higher education. Furthermore, he detailed reforms in medical education, including a merger of medical and health departments and a roadmap to increase MBBS seats in the state to 10,000 within two years.
To support students pursuing medical careers, the government is offering 40% grants for setting up private hospitals in smaller towns. “We want our youth not just to be job seekers, but job creators,” he added.
Women Empowerment: Rakshabandhan Gift for Ladli Sisters
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to women empowerment, the CM announced that ₹1500 each will be transferred to 1.27 crore Ladli sisters on Rakshabandhan. This is part of the broader mission to uplift women through social, financial, and political inclusion, including the implementation of 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies by 2029.
‘Education Rooted in Heritage, Aiming for the Future’: Education Minister
School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh lauded the initiative, emphasizing that Sandipani Schools symbolize the integration of cultural heritage with futuristic education models. He emphasized the role of teachers as the torchbearers and highlighted the government’s proactive steps in book and uniform distribution, laptop provision, and modern curriculum integration.
The event was also attended by MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Mayor Malti Rai, teachers, and a large number of students.
