Sanjay Som, currently serving as Executive Director at BEML Limited, is set to take on a new role as Director (Mining & Construction Business) following his recommendation by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel.
The panel, after conducting interviews on June 26, chose Som from a pool of three candidates, including two from BEML Limited and one from the Indian Navy. This decision marks a significant milestone for BEML Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, as it prepares for leadership transition in its key business division.
BEML Limited, formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited, is an Indian public sector undertaking which manufactures a variety of heavy equipment, such as that used for earth moving, railways, transport and mining. It is headquartered in Bangalore. BEML is Asia’s second-largest manufacturer of earth moving equipment.
