Patna: NTPC Limited has appointed Sanjib Kumar Suar, Executive Director, as the new Head of Project for NTPC Kanti. He assumed charge on September 4, 2025, bringing with him nearly four decades of rich experience in power generation and operations management.
Veteran Professional with Vast Experience
A 1986-batch Executive Trainee, Suar holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Sambalpur University and an M.Tech. in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi. Throughout his long association with NTPC, he has served at major stations including Vindhyachal, Talcher Kaniha, Raipur, Jhajjar, and North Karanpura. His expertise spans electrical maintenance, transformers, switchgears, protection systems, and O&M management.
Leadership Track Record
Promoted as Executive Director in March 2025, Suar previously headed NTPC North Karanpura. Under his leadership, the project witnessed steady progress and operational strengthening. He has also undergone advanced technical and leadership training at NTPC’s Power Management Institute and other reputed institutes in India and abroad. His training covered generator protection, safety leadership, energy efficiency, and management development.
Focus on Operational Excellence and Community Development
Speaking on his new role, Suar said: “It is a privilege to lead NTPC Kanti. My focus will be on ensuring operational excellence, strengthening safety and sustainability, and fostering strong community development initiatives. Through our CSR activities, we will continue to support education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, while working towards the holistic development of Kanti and the surrounding areas.”
