Hyderabad: A. Santhi Kumari, a 1989 batch IAS officer from the Telangana cadre and the outgoing Chief Secretary of Telangana, has been appointed as the Vice-Chairperson of the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (Dr. MCR HRD). This new role comes just days before her retirement, as she is set to retire on April 30, 2025, upon reaching the age of superannuation.

In addition to her appointment, Ms. Santhi Kumari has been given full additional charge (FAC) of the Chairperson’s position at the institute until further orders, a decision aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the institute during the transition.
The announcement was made through an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) Secretary, M. Raghunandan Rao, on Monday, April 28, 2025. The specific terms and conditions related to her new role will be communicated separately, according to the order.
Santhi has had a distinguished career in public service. Her appointment to the Dr. MCR HRD Institute follows her long tenure as Chief Secretary, where she was instrumental in key administrative reforms and policy initiatives for the state.
With her extensive experience in governance and human resource management, Ms. Santhi Kumari is expected to play a pivotal role in the further development of the institute, which focuses on training and capacity-building for public service personnel.
