Santosh Kumar Takhele has assumed additional charge as the Regional Executive Director (West-I) at NTPC Limited, effective 30th June 2025. A seasoned energy sector professional, Mr. Takhele brings over 37 years of extensive experience to the position.
Academic Background and Career Journey
An alumnus of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Mr. Takhele holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He joined NTPC in 1988 as an Executive Trainee and has since served in various leadership capacities across NTPC’s major operations.
Leadership Across Multiple Functions
Throughout his career, he has led key verticals including Contracts & Materials, Mechanical Maintenance, Operations Services, Fuel Management, Environment Management, and Safety. He has worked at several prominent NTPC units, such as Singrauli, WR-I Headquarters, Kanti, Farakka, and the Corporate Centre – EOC, earning recognition for his impactful contributions.
Dual Role with RGPPL
In addition to his new responsibility, Mr. Takhele will continue serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt. Ltd. (RGPPL). His dual role is expected to foster synergy between operations and further strengthen NTPC’s Western Region-I, promoting performance excellence across the board.
