NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced the appointment of Sarit Maheshwari as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel, effective May 10, 2025.
Maheshwari succeeds Rajiv Gupta, who has been repatriated to the parent company, NTPC. The appointment was formally disclosed by the company in a regulatory filing with stock exchanges on Saturday.
With a career spanning over 35 years, Maheshwari is a seasoned expert in the power sector. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, an M.Tech in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi, and an MBA in Marketing Management from IGNOU.
Prior to this role, Maheshwari led NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited, a 74:26 joint venture between NGEL and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. He also held key roles within the NTPC ecosystem, including as Head of Project at NTPC Korba.
His appointment marks a strategic leadership shift aimed at steering NGEL’s expanding renewable energy portfolio, aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
