New Delhi: Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has been awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating in its performance under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for the financial year 2024–25. The corporation secured a high score of 97.36 out of 100, reflecting its exceptional performance across operational, financial, and governance parameters.
Strong Institutional Performance Recognized
The rating highlights SECI’s operational efficiency, financial discipline, project execution capabilities, and adherence to corporate governance standards. It underscores the organization’s effective implementation of its mandated objectives and its significant contribution to India’s renewable energy targets.
During FY 2024–25, SECI demonstrated its strong institutional capabilities, achieving remarkable growth in renewable energy project execution and power trading, positioning itself as a leading driver of India’s clean energy transition.
Key Achievements in Renewable Energy
As a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, SECI continues to play a crucial role in expanding renewable energy capacity across India. By December 31, 2025:
- SECI had awarded over 76 GW of cumulative renewable energy capacity.
- Power Sale Agreements (PSAs) signed by the corporation crossed 60 GW.
During the fiscal year, SECI recorded a notable 18.48% increase in annual power trading volume, reaching 50.87 billion units, reflecting robust market engagement and operational efficiency.
Financial Performance and Profitability
SECI’s total income for FY 2024–25 exceeded ₹15,000 crore, marking a 16.54% year-on-year growth, while Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹501.92 crore, up 15.11% from the previous year. These financial results showcase the corporation’s strong fiscal management, profitability, and ability to support large-scale renewable energy initiatives.
