New Delhi: The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HyperVault AI Data Center Limited (HADL) to explore renewable energy supply for the company’s upcoming data centre facilities in Telangana.
The partnership seeks to combine India’s growing demand for digital infrastructure with the country’s clean energy transition. Under the agreement, SECI will explore the development of renewable energy projects on a captive basis to provide reliable green power to HyperVault AI’s planned data centre facilities.
SECI, HyperVault AI Sign MoU for Renewable Energy Supply
The MoU provides a framework for SECI and HyperVault AI to explore renewable energy solutions specifically for upcoming data centre operations in Telangana.
As part of the collaboration, SECI will explore:
- Development of renewable energy projects on a captive basis
- Identification of suitable land for renewable energy projects
- Facilitation of transmission connectivity
- Supply of renewable power to HyperVault AI’s planned data centre facilities
The initiative is aimed at supporting the growing energy requirements of data centres while increasing the use of renewable power.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Officials
The agreement was signed by Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI, and Deepesh Nanda, Managing Director & CEO, HyperVault AI Data Center Limited.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Akash Tripathi, IAS, Managing Director, SECI, along with senior officials from both organisations.
The participation of senior leadership from the two organisations underlines the strategic importance of the proposed renewable energy partnership.
Captive Renewable Energy Projects Planned for Data Centres
Under the proposed arrangement, SECI will explore renewable energy projects that can be developed on a captive basis for HyperVault AI’s data centre requirements.
The approach is intended to provide a dedicated source of clean electricity for energy-intensive data centre operations.
Land identification and transmission connectivity will also be important components of the initiative, helping facilitate the development and delivery of renewable power to the planned facilities.
First Exclusive Renewable Energy Initiative for Data Centres
The collaboration has been described as the first-ever exclusive renewable energy supply initiative for data centre operations in India.
Data centres require substantial and reliable electricity to operate servers, cooling systems and other critical infrastructure. As India’s digital economy expands, ensuring sustainable power for such facilities is becoming increasingly important.
The SECI-HyperVault AI partnership seeks to address this requirement by linking new data centre infrastructure with captive renewable energy development.
