Bilaspur: In a major boost to community healthcare and higher education, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹75.13 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The agreements aim to enhance public health services and modernize academic infrastructure in Bilaspur and surrounding rural areas.
The MoUs were formalized at a ceremony held at SECL Headquarters, in the presence of Mr. Biranchi Das, Director (HR), SECL.
₹61.96 Lakh for Charitable Dispensary in Partnership with Ramakrishna Mission
The first MoU was signed with Ramakrishna Mission, Bilaspur, wherein SECL will extend ₹61.96 lakh in financial assistance to support the “Maa Sarada Charitable Dispensary.” The funds will be utilized to procure essential medical equipment for:
- Dental care
- Physiotherapy
- Eye care
- Pathology
- Outpatient (OPD) services
This initiative is expected to significantly benefit residents from underprivileged rural and slum communities in Bilaspur and neighboring villages, providing them with access to better diagnostic and therapeutic care.

₹13.17 Lakh for Academic Infrastructure at Govt. Science College
The second MoU was signed with Government E. Raghvendra Rao Postgraduate Science College, Bilaspur. SECL will provide ₹13.17 lakh to fund the upgradation of M.Sc. Physics classroom and laboratory facilities, creating an improved academic and research environment for students. This investment is expected to foster scientific inquiry, hands-on learning, and educational advancement in one of the region’s premier higher education institutions.
