New Delhi: Mr. Harish Duhan, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), has launched SAMAGRI – Stock Analysis Management Application for Generating Real-time Insights, a digital dashboard aimed at strengthening material management and ensuring uninterrupted coal operations.
The launch took place during the General Manager (GM) Coordination Meeting held on 04 February 2026, marking a significant step towards technology-driven operational efficiency at SECL.
Enhancing Material Availability and Operational Continuity
The SAMAGRI dashboard has been conceptualized to improve real-time stock analysis, enhance procurement planning, and ensure continuous availability of critical materials required for coal production. The initiative supports SECL’s broader objective of improving productivity, planning efficiency, and operational reliability through digital transformation.

The launch event was held in the august presence of senior officials, including:
- Mr. N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical – Operations)

Key Focus Areas of the GM Coordination Meeting
The GM Coordination Meeting focused extensively on production and productivity-related issues, planning efficiencies, and technology-enabled performance improvement. The introduction of SAMAGRI reflects a structured, system-driven approach to managing critical materials that directly support coal production and operational continuity.
SAP-Based Dashboard for Data-Driven Decision Making
Built entirely on SAP data, the SAMAGRI dashboard integrates:
- Real-time stock positions
- Historical consumption trends
- Lead time analysis
- Safety stock logic
- Reorder level thresholds
The dashboard features a traffic-light based visual framework, stock coverage indicators, and action-oriented remarks, enabling senior management to take quick, informed decisions without the need for detailed data analysis.
Strengthening Procurement and Governance
As a planning and monitoring tool, SAMAGRI is expected to significantly enhance SECL’s ability to prevent material shortages, avoid emergency procurement, and ensure cost-effective and timely purchasing. The system promotes greater transparency, accountability, and governance while reinforcing proactive procurement practices.
With objective, data-driven indicators and SAP-aligned logic, the dashboard empowers leadership with improved visibility and control, underscoring SECL’s commitment to technology-enabled efficiency and sustainable production performance.
