Chandigarh: Four senior IAS officers from the Punjab cadre who have received clearance from the state government are now awaiting formal posting orders from the Central government. The officers are set to join key assignments at the Centre following administrative approval from the state.
Officers to Join Central Government
The officers cleared for central deputation include –
- Tejveer Singh (1994 batch)
- Dalip Kumar (1995 batch)
- Cibin C (2005 batch)
- Varun Roojam (2004 batch)
Their postings are expected to strengthen the cadre’s representation at central ministries and departments.
Current Representation of Punjab Cadre at Centre
Currently, 20 IAS officers from the Punjab cadre are serving with the Central government. With the addition of these four officers, the total number of Punjab cadre officers on central deputation will increase, allowing for greater involvement in national administrative roles.
Significance of Central Posting for IAS Officers
Central postings are often seen as career-enhancing opportunities for IAS officers, exposing them to policy formulation at the national level and providing broader administrative experience.
