Senior IRS officer Mr. Alok Kumar, who was earlier posted in Jammu & Kashmir, has recently been shifted and given a top posting in Mumbai. The seasoned bureaucrat has been appointed as the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Mumbai, a post that is considered to be at the zenith by the Income Tax circles.
Mr. Kumar, a 1990-batch IRS officer, was posted as Secretary in the Department of Higher School Education while being deputed to the Jammu & Kashmir (Union Territory) Administration. He served as the Principal Secretary to the J&K Government’s Higher Education Department.
