Mumbai: Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has appointed Mr. Nitin Khamesra as Director (Finance) with effect from February 23, 2026, at 4:30 PM.
The appointment follows Order No. 01/08/2025-EO(PE) dated January 31, 2026, issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Mr. Khamesra (DIN: 09595247) has formally assumed charge as Director (Finance) on the Board of SCI from the said date and time.

Following the appointment of the regular Director (Finance), Capt. Som Raj, Director (Personnel & Administration), has ceased to hold the additional charge of Director (Finance) effective February 23, 2026, at 4:30 PM.
SCI confirmed that Mr. Khamesra is not related to any Director of the company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by SEBI or any other regulatory authority.

Professional Background of Nitin Khamesra
Mr. Nitin Khamesra is a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, and a graduate in Computer Science with over 28 years of experience in financial management, maritime logistics, and strategic operations.
Before joining SCI, he served as Chief General Manager at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), where he handled leadership roles across Shipping, Refineries, International Trade, Treasury Operations, and Management Accounts.
At IOCL, he worked as Chartering & Finance Head (Shipping), supporting crude oil, LNG, LPG, and petroleum product procurement and managing end-to-end seaborne logistics. He also served as Finance Head of Gujarat Refinery, overseeing finance, taxation, and major project functions.
Strategic Contributions and Industry Leadership
During his career, Mr. Khamesra played a significant role in:
- Formulating shipping and chartering strategies
- Introducing long-term time chartering models
- Driving insurance and risk optimisation frameworks
- Establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in GIFT City
- Implementing SAP-based automation and financial control systems
He has represented IOCL at industry forums such as ICAI and FIPI and served as Nominee Director on the Board of Vadodara Enviro Channel Limited (VECL), where he chaired the Audit Committee.
