SJVN Contributes ₹10 Lakh to Himachal Pradesh’s Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh Under CSR Initiative

New Delhi: SJVN Limited on Wednesday announced that it has extended financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The contribution has been made as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive social development.

Commitment to Social Welfare

Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN, Bhupender Gupta, said that the contribution reflects the organization’s sustained commitment to supporting social welfare programmes, particularly those aimed at uplifting vulnerable sections of society in Himachal Pradesh. He emphasized that SJVN considers community development and social responsibility as integral components of its growth strategy.

Cheque Presented to Chief Minister

The cheque was formally presented to Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in the presence of Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, and Sanjay Sood, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF).

The contribution was handed over by Vikas Marwah, Head of Project, Rampur Hydro Power Station, and Vivek Sharma, Head of Project, Luhri Hydro Power Project (Stage-I), highlighting SJVN’s on-ground engagement through its major hydroelectric projects in the state.

Support for Children in Need

Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, and Chairman of SJVN Foundation, stated that the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme is a flagship initiative of the Himachal Pradesh government aimed at ensuring care, protection, and long-term support for orphaned, abandoned, and surrendered children across the state.

He added that the assistance provided by SJVN Foundation would help address future requirements related to education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, skill development, and the overall rehabilitation and well-being of the beneficiary children.

SJVN Foundation, the registered trust of SJVN, is responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s CSR and sustainability initiatives. Under its CSR framework, SJVN undertakes a wide range of developmental activities with a focus on health and hygiene, education and skill development, infrastructure development, disaster relief, sustainable development, and the promotion and preservation of culture and sports.
