The Ministry of Steel organized a one-day Chintan Shivir at Hotel Taj West End, Bengaluru, to discuss the future of India’s steel sector. The event gathered leaders from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the Ministry of Steel to strategize for sustainable growth.
HD Kumaraswamy, Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, attended virtually, while Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Steel, was the Chief Guest. Sandeep Poundrik, Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, and heads of CPSEs also participated, emphasizing collaboration for industry progress.
The Shivir featured strategic sessions on iron ore utilization, National Steel Policy 2025, specialty steel production, operational efficiency, and cost reduction strategies. Varma highlighted the goal of achieving 300 MT of steel production capacity by 2030, aligning with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The event also launched the official website for India Steel 2025, scheduled for April 24-26, 2025, and introduced 35 young managers as emerging industry leaders. The Shivir concluded with a unified commitment to strengthening India’s position in the global steel industry.
