Faridabad: In a strategic push to nurture leadership and enhance organisational capacity, NHPC Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on July 31, 2025. The agreement marks a significant step toward structured human resource development in India’s power sector.
Strengthening Leadership Through Learning

The MoU was formalised at NHPC’s Corporate Office in Faridabad. It focuses on collaborative initiatives in leadership development, capacity building, and research. This partnership is expected to bolster NHPC’s internal talent pool by integrating academic insights with practical industry needs.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Rajeev R. Asthana, General Manager (HRD), NHPC, and Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran (Retd.), Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu. The signing took place in the presence of Mr. Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC, along with other senior officials from both institutions.
Strategic Vision for Human Capital

Speaking at the occasion, Director (Personnel) Uttam Lal highlighted NHPC’s unwavering commitment to structured learning. He stated that the partnership reinforces NHPC’s alignment with national priorities and global standards in strategic human capital development.
This collaboration with IIM Jammu is expected to bring in advanced management practices and fresh academic perspectives to NHPC’s leadership and HR functions, creating future-ready teams for India’s energy transformation journey.
