The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the entrustment of additional charge of Director (Technical), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) to Sudhakararao Papa, who is currently serving as Director (Enterprise), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). He replaces Dr. Kalyan Sagar Nippani, Director (HR), BSNL, who had been holding dual responsibility as Director (Technical), MTNL.
As per the official order, Sudhakararao Papa will hold the post for a period of one year from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The decision was based on a proposal from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Ministry of Communications.
This move is part of ongoing efforts to streamline leadership roles across public sector undertakings under the telecom ministry, especially as MTNL and BSNL continue to undergo operational and strategic restructuring.
