Gandhinagar: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel contributed to the Teachers’ Welfare Fund and extended gratitude to teachers for their vital role in shaping individuals and society.
Students Collect Contributions for Teachers’ Welfare Fund
In the morning, students from various schools in Gandhinagar, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, visited the Chief Minister’s residence to voluntarily collect contributions for the fund. CM Patel interacted with the children and conveyed his appreciation for teachers, while reiterating the importance of education in building a strong and self-reliant society.
Honouring Teachers on September 5
Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on September 5 to mark the birth anniversary of former President and eminent teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, encourages voluntary contributions to the welfare fund in acknowledgment of teachers’ service. District officials, education officers, and teachers were also present at the event.
Gujarat’s Strong Global Positioning
Later in New Delhi, during an interactive session with diplomats and heads of missions, CM Patel highlighted Gujarat’s growing international profile. He noted that the state has attracted USD 69 billion in FDI and contributes 27% of India’s exports, establishing itself as a hub of global connectivity.
Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’s Success
Patel emphasized the role of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, launched in 2003, in reshaping the state’s economic landscape. The summit, he said, has helped Gujarat transition from being known primarily as a commercial hub to becoming a center for new-age industries.
Focus on Futuristic Sectors
Highlighting sectors such as AI, spacetech, fintech, semiconductors, defence, aerospace, EVs, and green energy, Patel said Gujarat has emerged as a pioneering state. He reiterated that the state is moving strongly towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
