Telangana government has relieved IPS officer Dr. RS Praveen Kumar just a day after his announcement of voluntary retirement. The state government also appointed Ronald Rose as secretary for Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) in place of Mr. Kumar.
Mr. Rose is currently the special secretary to the government in the finance department and has also served DC Mahabubnagar in the past.
Mr. Kumar had mailed his resignation letter to Telangana Chief Secretary Mr Somesh Kumar. While announcing his retirement he tweeted, “
“After 26 years of serving the motherland as an IPS officer, I have applied today for voluntary retirement to pursue my passion for social justice and equality with more vigour at my own pace. I thank you all for standing by me throughout my career.”
A 1995-batch IPS officer, Dr Kumar was serving as Additional Director General of Police in Telangana. But most of his work and energy was devoted to his endeavor as the secretary of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society and Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society.
