Hyderabad: The Telangana IPS Officers Association on Saturday strongly condemned allegations levelled against women IAS officers by certain media channels, calling the coverage a deliberate attempt at character assassination and a misuse of journalism for sensationalism.
The statement was issued by Association President and Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy, along with other office bearers including G Sudheer Babu, Vikram Singh Mann, Tafseer Iqubal, and D Joel Davis.
Allegations Against Women Officers Viewed as Regressive
The Association highlighted that targeting women officers through unverified claims, fabricated narratives, and selective distortion of administrative processes is not only unethical but reflects a deeply misogynistic mindset.
“Women officers across services discharge their duties with integrity, courage, and professionalism, often under demanding circumstances,” the statement said. “To malign their reputation through conjecture, leaked or fabricated material, and insinuations about postings or personal conduct is grossly unethical, legally untenable, and morally indefensible.”
The Association further emphasized that such reporting undermines institutional morale, erodes public confidence in governance, and weakens democratic institutions.

Call for Accountability and Legal Action
The IPS Officers Association firmly asserted that the allegations aired were false, malicious, and devoid of factual basis, amounting to a serious violation of privacy, dignity, and professional reputation.
It demanded an immediate and unconditional public apology from the concerned media houses and the withdrawal of all defamatory content from digital and broadcast platforms.
The Association warned that any media organization or individual found disseminating baseless or fabricated content against serving officers would face strict legal action, and vowed to pursue all appropriate civil and criminal remedies to ensure accountability and deterrence.
Upholding Dignity of Constitutional Offices
“The dignity of constitutional offices, particularly the honour and safety of women officers, is non-negotiable,” the statement said. “Any attempt to intimidate, malign, or demoralize serving officers through false narratives will be met with a firm, united, and resolute institutional response.”
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting public institutions, and ensuring that women officers serve without fear, prejudice, or harassment.
