In a significant reshuffle, the Telangana government appointed 2005-batch IAS officer K Ilambarithi as the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Monday, replacing Amrapali Kata, who was repatriated to Andhra Pradesh. Ilambarithi’s appointment is part of a broader reorganization affecting 13 IAS officers, including new postings for three officers who recently joined from Andhra Pradesh.
Among the notable changes, Telangana Finance Commission member-secretary Smita Sabharwal (2001 batch) has been reassigned as Secretary of the Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture Department while retaining her roles with the Finance Commission and the Directorate of Archaeology. Meanwhile, K Surendra Mohan, currently the Mines and Geology Secretary, has been given additional responsibility as the in-charge Commissioner of the Transport Wing.

- E Sridhar (2004 batch) has been appointed Secretary of the Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Department, taking over from B Venkatesham. Sridhar will also serve as in-charge Endowments Commissioner, filling the post previously vacated due to age eligibility issues for Zendage Hanumant Kondiba.
- D Krishna Bhaskar has been named Chairman and Managing Director of TG Transco, continuing his role as Special Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. This move follows D Ronald Rose’s repatriation to Andhra Pradesh.

- Chevvuru Hari Kiran is now the Director of Prohibition and Excise.
- Siva Sankar Lotheti has been appointed CEO of the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, relieving RV Karnan.
- G Srijana will serve as Director of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, succeeding Anita Ramachandran, who moves to the Women and Child Welfare Department.
- Krishna Aditya has been transferred from the Labour Department to the Board of Intermediate Education as Director and Secretary, taking over from S Sridevasena.
- Chitten Lakshmi, a 2013 batch officer awaiting posting, has been made Director of AYUSH.
- Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary of Labour, will assume additional responsibilities as in-charge Commissioner of Labour.
- Gaurav Uppal, the Resident Commissioner at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, has been designated as in-charge Secretary for Government Coordination with Government of India projects within the General Administration Department.
