Tenure Of Home Minister’s PS Extended

The tenure of Saket Kumar, who is Private Secretary to the Home Minister Amit Shah, has been extended for a period of two years. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved this extension, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The 2009 batch IAS from Bihar cadre, Mr. Kumar was appointed as the Home Minister’s Secretary on June 7, 2019. His tenure was first extended from July 29, 2023 to August 16, 2023.

Mr. Kumar is originally from Madhubani in Bihar. His father is a college professor. He did his schooling from Don Bosco, Madhubani and Model School in Delhi .and his graduation and post graduation from Hindu College. He cleared the UPSC exam in his second attempt with AIR 13.

His first appointment was as DDC in Samastipur and SDO in Vaishali, Bihar. He has been the District Magistrate of Khagaria and Banka districts.
